This is the Madison County Economic Development (MCEDC)
web site and we appreciate your visit. We are excited to spread the good news about Madison County,
Montana
and to help promote strong, intelligent economic growth in the area. The MCEDC
is a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization comprised of a board of
directors from around Madison County and a fantastic membership
base. Our members are Madison County citizens and businesses who
have a vested interest in the success of our organization. Like you,
the MCEDC has a deep appreciation of our county’s recreation,
environment, and culture in our community.
While visiting our web site don't miss the details about our "Fish
Out of Water" project,
which is designed to
bring added value to Madison County, added awareness and
appreciation for art, and to raise funds to be divided between the
Madison County Economic Development Council and local charities in
the area of where the fish sculptures are displayed. Through this
site you can participate in a silent bid on these unique sculptures
- the final live auction slated for summer 2009.
We hope that you'll pay us a visit the next time that you're in
Montana! To become acquainted, please take a few minutes to look around our web site. Learn more about our
mission,
members,
projects and
community. You’ll be glad that you did.

The Madison Marathon
- Sunday, August 2, 2009
The
2nd Annual Madison Marathon will once again be a road marathon on
Top of Montana. In fact, it is the highest road marathon in America.
The starting line is at 9,160 feet near Black Butte Mountain with
runners peaking out at 9,587 on Monument Ridge before finishing at
8,550 feet at Clover Meadows. We guarantee it will be a run that you
will remember forever.
The Madison Marathon is a limited
support race. The distance from any town makes it impossible for us
to host a highly supported race. We will have food/water stations as
well as porta-johns along the way. However, runners should be
prepared to carry some of their own water, food, gels, and whatever
else they might need that other races often provide. All runners
will be required to sign a waiver upon check in releasing us from
any liability. No sign, no run, and your entry fee will be refunded.
Registration closes Friday, July 31, 2009.
